Every year, Cars.com creates the American-Made Index -- a list of the Top 10 vehicles in America that were assembled here, and are made with at least 75 percent American-made parts.

The MIT Technology Review released a list of the 17 Smartest Companies of 2016 this June, and one of the only two automaker mentioned was Toyota. The publication noted Toyota for its research in self-driving cars, as well as robotics and mobility technology at the new Toyota Research Institute, which opened this January.
