Zach Doell, with US News and World Report said...There are more options than ever if you are shopping for a three-row midsize SUV, but despite this increased competition, the recently redesigned Honda Pilot continues to show its appeal. I spent a week driving the midrange Pilot and came away impressed with this family hauler's smooth driving demeanor, easy-to-use features and cavernous interior. In my opinion, the 2024 Pilot is well worth considering next to newcomers like the Toyota Grand Highlander and Mazda CX-90, as well as established favorites like the Kia Telluride, Hyundai Palisade and Jeep Grand Cherokee L.
As a three-row SUV, it has eight seats in its standard configuration, and a seven-seat layout is available by switching the second-row bench seat for two captains chairs. The first two rows of seats are supportive and have enough space for adults to sit comfortably. The third row, on the other hand, can fit adults in a pinch for shorter trips, but it is probably best left to kids for longer rides.
There is a generous cargo capacity inside for a midsize SUV. This Honda has 18.6 cubic feet of space behind the third-row seats, 48.5 cubic feet with these seats folded and up to 87 cubic feet with the second and third rows folded.
For EX-L and above trim levels, Pilot comes stacked with features, including, 18-inch alloy wheels, , Heated mirrors, Power liftgate, Remote engine start, Driver's seat memory settings, Power-adjustable, heated front seats, Leather upholstery and an 8-inch touchscreen

Perfect SUV for my needs

I wanted a reliable SUV with good visibility and comfortable seating for 4 adults and ample room for our luggage/travel gear, as well as the option to handle moving larger objects when needed (with all seats folded down). This vehicle hit the sweet spot. First, the visibility. Traveling through beautiful areas, nothing beats the extended moonroof with the ample sized windows. It truly gives a panorama effect. Additionally, between the overall size (more truck than car), the 360 cameras and the windows, I can see while driving. Not every SUV offers good visibility! I love this, and considered it an essential safety feature. Traveling with four adults is luxurious. Some of my regular travel companions are tall/large and I wanted them to be able to sit in the front or back seats. This SUV is very civilized for an extended trip. All four seats are comfortable. The tallest person doesn't not de facto need to ride shotgun. I also wanted a car that could handle the luggage for 4 easily without any talk of a roof compartment. I haven't yet had to fit 8 people at once, my life doesn't trend that way, but feel confident this rig would rise to occasion, no problem. I also had to make a trade off between the cost of gas and the engine power. I formerly owned a Camry Hybrid, which I loved. I wanted to buy the Highlander Hybrid but the cost and how underpowered it is (for my taste), the constant engine whine I observed when test driving it really bothered me, and the cabin on that SUV felt closed in compared with the Pilot. The tall/large person test drove it with me and even riding in the passenger front seat was slightly less roomy than the Pilot. Overall I am very happy with this vehicle. - 5.0
Great car that holds value

After much research, I purchased a 2023 Honda Pilot TrailSport. This model comes with the bells and whistles for those who like to travel, hit the parks, do some easy off road driving, as it also comes with the roof rails and hitch. Easy to drive and tons of safety features like lane assist and cross traffic sensors in the front. - 5.0

Very smooth. A joy to drive. All controls are very easy to learn and use. The ride is extremely good. Handles better than most vehicles in this class.
